There is no one follower number that makes every TikTok account eligible to earn. The answer depends on **what you want to be paid for**, where your account is eligible, your age, account type and standing, and what TikTok shows in your own monetization tools. A follower threshold may let you **apply** for one feature; it does not promise approval, views, gifts, customers, or income.

TikTok's published rules illustrate the differences. Its [Creator Rewards Program](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) lists **10,000 followers** plus other conditions, including **100,000 video views in the previous 30 days**, for creators in eligible regions. Its [LIVE Help](https://support.tiktok.com/en/live-gifts-wallet/tiktok-live/what-is-tiktok-live) lists **1,000 followers to host a LIVE**, while saying that the figure may vary by region; the ability to host is separate from receiving [LIVE Gifts](https://support.tiktok.com/en/live-gifts-wallet/tiktok-live/live-gifts-on-tiktok). TikTok's [Video Gifts](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/video-gifts-on-tiktok/video-gifts-on-tiktok) and [TikTok One](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-one) publish their own requirements. There are also country-specific TikTok Shop creator paths, with different account types and rules.

If you have seen a claim that **1,000 followers automatically gets you paid**, it is mixing up several features. Below is a way to identify the feature you actually mean and check its current requirements without relying on a supposed universal threshold.

## Start with the type of income, not a follower milestone

The phrase “get paid on TikTok” can describe at least four different arrangements. TikTok can award eligible creators under a platform program; viewers can send eligible Gifts; a brand can contract with a creator; or customers can buy products or paid content. Those arrangements have different decision makers. Being eligible for one does not enroll you in another.

For example, LIVE access does not establish LIVE Gift eligibility. A large following does not override Creator Rewards' account and video tests. A direct brand contract is a separate arrangement, not a TikTok payout triggered by follower count.

### Creator Rewards: 10,000 followers is one of several entry conditions

TikTok's [Creator Rewards Program Help](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) lists at least **10,000 followers** and **100,000 video views in the past 30 days** among its participation requirements. It also requires a creator to be in an eligible country, meet the applicable age requirement, have a personal account in good standing with authentic information, and post original content that qualifies under the program. TikTok lists **18** as the minimum age, or **19 in South Korea**. The program is not described as open in every country.

That follower number is an **application gate**, not a salary trigger. TikTok reviews the account and the videos. Its Help states that eligible videos must be at least one minute long, original, and posted after the creator joins the program. A video needs qualifying For You feed views before it can start collecting rewards. TikTok excludes some view types, including artificial or paid views, from qualified views. The amount depends on the program's qualified-view and reward calculations; a raw public view count or follower total cannot be converted into a reliable payment estimate.

The older **Creator Fund** is a poor guide to current eligibility. TikTok's [Creator Fund changes page](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-creator-fund-us/who-is-eligible-us) says the Fund is no longer available and was replaced by Creator Rewards. Do not use an old Fund rate, such as a fixed amount per thousand views, to predict what a new Creator Rewards participant would earn.

If the program is offered to your account, check its tile in **TikTok Studio → Monetization** and read the eligibility notice and program terms shown there. If it is absent, do not assume that adding followers will unlock it: region, age, account type, standing, view history, and the program's availability may each matter. TikTok's linked Help page is the public starting point; the account's current in-app eligibility result is the practical next check.

### LIVE and LIVE Gifts: access to broadcast is not payment eligibility

TikTok's [LIVE Help](https://support.tiktok.com/en/live-gifts-wallet/tiktok-live/what-is-tiktok-live) lists **1,000 followers** to go LIVE and explicitly says the requirement may vary across regions. It also lists an age of at least **18** to host a LIVE. Some accounts or places may not have the LIVE feature. You can check the creation screen for a **LIVE** option and read any eligibility message that TikTok presents.

Even if you can broadcast, that does not mean you can receive Gifts. TikTok's [LIVE Gifts Help](https://support.tiktok.com/en/live-gifts-wallet/tiktok-live/live-gifts-on-tiktok) separately requires residence where the feature is available, eligibility to go LIVE, an account in good standing, and age **18 or older** (**19 in South Korea**). It also excludes certain government, political, and other public-interest accounts from collecting Diamonds through LIVE Gifts. TikTok controls the Gift setting and the eligibility review. Viewers must choose to send Gifts; there is no guaranteed Gift volume or payout because a creator reached 1,000 followers.

One thousand appears in TikTok's general LIVE guidance, with a regional qualifier, but receiving Gifts requires more than broadcasting access.

### Video Gifts: a separate requirement for eligible videos

TikTok's [Video Gifts Help](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/video-gifts-on-tiktok/video-gifts-on-tiktok) lists at least **10,000 followers**, an account that is at least **30 days old**, a public video in the previous **30 days**, and a personal account in good standing. The creator must be old enough-**18**, or **19 in South Korea**-and live where Video Gifts are offered. TikTok lists ineligible content and account types, including certain sponsored content and business or public-interest accounts.

Video Gifts on posts and LIVE Gifts have different controls. If **Video Gifts** appears in TikTok Studio, read its eligibility screen and virtual-items terms. A follower count alone does not enable it.

### Brand collaborations and TikTok One

Some creators are paid by brands to make or license content. In a direct agreement, the brand and creator decide whether to work together and agree the scope, disclosure, rights, deliverables, and compensation. TikTok does not publish one worldwide follower threshold that automatically makes a brand offer appear. A creator's audience fit and work may matter to a prospective partner, but no follower number guarantees a deal.

TikTok also runs [TikTok One](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-one), which includes Creator Marketplace tools for possible collaborations. Its general Help lists **10,000 followers**, at least **1,000 post views in the last 30 days**, and **three posts in that period**, along with age and account-standing requirements. TikTok says age and follower requirements may vary by region. Joining a marketplace gives access to a collaboration route; it is not a promise that a brand will hire or pay you. Check **TikTok Studio → Monetization → Creator Marketplace → Check eligibility** if those controls appear on your account.

For sponsored content, review TikTok's current disclosure controls and describe the collaboration honestly. Fees depend on the agreement, not a platform-wide follower formula.

### TikTok Shop: a country-specific example, not a global rule

TikTok Shop is another possible route where available: approved creators can promote eligible products and may earn commission from sales. Its rules depend on the **country** and **creator account type**, so a US threshold should never be presented as a worldwide TikTok threshold.

For a concrete example, TikTok Shop's [US Creator Eligibility Policy, updated September 25, 2026](https://seller-us.tiktok.com/university/essay?knowledge_id=6939143037667118), says a US **Affiliate Creator** must self-apply and have at least **1,000 followers**. A US **Marketing Creator** is invited to bind with a seller, and an **Official Shop Creator** is bound to the seller's shop; the policy does not impose that same initial 1,000-follower minimum on those bound types. It also requires creators to meet age, location, identity, account-standing, and policy checks. Some newly approved creators enter a pilot period with limited capabilities. These distinctions apply to the **United States policy cited here**, not to every TikTok Shop market.

If Shop is offered in your country, read **your market's eligibility policy** and account-type description. A commission requires eligible activity and attributed transactions under the applicable terms; a follower threshold does not create a sale.

## What if you have fewer than 1,000 followers?

You may still build an independent business or agree a direct project with a brand or client, subject to applicable rules. This differs from a TikTok program reward. Check advertising and disclosure rules before publishing paid content. A follower minimum cannot determine whether someone will buy from you or hire you.

TikTok also has specialist programs beyond the four main routes above. For example, [TikTok Series](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-series/about-tiktok-series) lets eligible creators apply to sell access to premium content. Its published standard criteria include **10,000 followers**, but TikTok says creators with fewer than 10,000 who meet other requirements may apply by providing a link to premium content they previously sold elsewhere. That is an application exception, not an approval promise. Series availability and suitability depend on the account and content.

Avoid buying or artificially inflating followers, views, likes, or comments to cross a gate. TikTok's [Creator Rewards rules](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) exclude fraudulent and artificial activity, and its [Shop creator policy](https://seller-us.tiktok.com/university/essay?knowledge_id=6939143037667118) includes compliance checks. Artificial numbers can leave you ineligible and do not create genuine demand for your work.

## How to check your own account before making a plan

1. **Write down the income route.** Are you asking about video rewards, Gifts during LIVE, Gifts on posts, a brand collaboration, Shop commissions, or selling your own work? Do not treat a threshold for one as a threshold for the others.
2. **Check country and age eligibility.** Read the current TikTok Help or Shop policy for your market. Look for restrictions on account type, age, and where a feature is available. The existence of a Help page does not mean every account can join.
3. **Check TikTok Studio.** Open the **Monetization** area and use the eligibility control for the feature, if shown. Read the actual reason if a feature is unavailable. Do not switch countries, account types, or details merely to imitate another creator's eligibility.
4. **Check your content and account standing.** A public follower total is only one measurement. Review the required view period, recent posts, originality, video length, account status, and any verification steps described by the program.
5. **Plan for uncertain outcomes.** Eligibility allows an application or feature use under the rules. It does not promise approval, a brand deal, a commissionable order, a Gift, a specific rate, or regular income.

## Quick answers

### Can you get paid at 1,000 TikTok followers?

Possibly through a route available to your particular account, but **1,000 is not a universal payment threshold**. TikTok lists a region-qualified 1,000-follower LIVE hosting requirement, while LIVE Gifts have separate eligibility. Its current US Shop policy also lists 1,000 followers for the US Affiliate Creator type. Other programs have different rules. ### Does TikTok pay everyone with 10,000 followers?

No. Creator Rewards, Video Gifts, and TikTok One each list a 10,000-follower requirement in their general Help, but also require other conditions. Account, country, content, and feature eligibility still apply; payment depends on qualifying activity or a separate arrangement. [Creator Rewards](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) · [Video Gifts](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/video-gifts-on-tiktok/video-gifts-on-tiktok) · [TikTok One](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-one)

### Is the Creator Fund still the way to get paid for views?

TikTok says its Creator Fund is no longer available and points creators to Creator Rewards. Do not use historical Fund examples to estimate a present reward. [TikTok's Creator Fund update](https://support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/tiktok-creator-fund-us/who-is-eligible-us)

### How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

There is no reliable universal figure in these program rules. Creator Rewards uses **qualified** views and program calculations, while Gifts, brand contracts, and Shop commissions work differently. Read the feature's current terms and your own dashboard rather than multiplying a public view count by an old rate. ### What if a feature is not visible in TikTok Studio?

Check the linked official Help and the account's in-app notices. It may be unavailable in your region or for your age, account type, content history, or current standing. Another creator's screenshot cannot establish eligibility for your account.
