Another day, another acronym – and we’re back with yet another abbreviation that has a meaning outside of social media as well as multiple interpretations within Instagram, Tik Tok, and Snapchat.

‘GNG’ is not to be confused with the well-known ‘GTG’ abbreviation for ‘Got to Go’ – one which millennials and early social media users be especially familiar with.

On Instagram, ‘GNG’ is actually the short form word for ‘Gang’.

## Why Do Users Use ‘GNG’ Instead Of ‘Gang’?

This seems like an odd abbreviation, because it removes just one letter from the original word. That said, it is as much a form of slang as it is an online abbreviation nor short hand acronym – with young Instagram and other social users using it in conversation and to caption their posts and stories.

## What Else Does GNG Mean?

Outside of Instagram, GNG most commonly means Games Night Games.

So, which version of GNG are you familiar with – and this is an acronym that you would use yourself?
