How to change or reset your TikTok password

Follow TikTok’s current steps to change a password while signed in, reset it when locked out, and review account security after suspicious access.

If you can still open your account, use TikTok's Account > Password setting. If you cannot sign in, use Forgot password? on the login screen. These are different routes through TikTok's own app; FollowersFly does not need your password or a verification code for either one.

Change the password while you are signed in

In the TikTok app, tap Profile, open the Menu ☰, then choose Settings and privacy > Account > Password. Follow the prompts TikTok shows for your account. If your app looks different, use TikTok's current reset-password instructions rather than a screenshot from an older guide.

Choose a password you do not use on another site. TikTok's account-safety guidance recommends a strong, unique password and offers a Security checkup for recovery details and sign-in protection. A password manager can help you create and keep a unique password without writing it in a message or comment.

Reset the password when you cannot sign in

On the TikTok login screen, choose Use phone/email/username, then Email/Username > Forgot password?. Choose the phone number or email address linked to your account and follow TikTok's verification instructions. TikTok's forgot-password help describes this flow. If you originally signed in through another social account, you may need to reset that provider's password instead.

If neither recovery method is available, use TikTok's in-app recovery or account-safety help. Do not send a password, one-time code, or recovery email to a third-party website claiming it can unlock your account.

If you suspect someone else has access

After changing your password, open Settings and privacy > Security & permissions > Manage devices and remove a device you do not recognize. In the same security area, review Security checkup and turn on 2-step verification if it is available to your account. TikTok's account-safety page explains those controls. Also check that the email and phone number linked to the account are yours.

TikTok says updating the password signs the account out on other devices, but reviewing the device list is still useful when you are responding to suspicious activity. If you cannot regain access or see posts or messages you did not make, follow TikTok's compromised-account guidance and report the issue through the app.

Common questions

Where is the password setting? In the current TikTok Help flow, it is under Settings and privacy > Account > Password while you are signed in. App labels can change, so use the official help page if the menu differs.

What if I no longer have my email or phone? Try TikTok's account-recovery options and support guidance. A third-party likes, followers, or growth service cannot verify ownership or reset your TikTok login.

Should I share a verification code with support? No. Enter codes only in TikTok's own app or login flow. TikTok's fraudulent-message guidance explains how to treat suspicious requests.
