How to Find a Facebook Page ID

Find the numeric ID for the right Facebook Page, check it against Meta’s device-specific help, and avoid confusing it with a username or business account ID.

A Facebook Page ID is the numeric identifier for a specific Facebook Page. If a business tool, support request, or integration asks for it, copying the Page name or the words in its web address will not answer the same question. Open the Page you mean to identify, look for a field explicitly labelled Page ID, and copy that number. If your screen does not show the field, follow Facebook’s current Page ID Help article for your device rather than guessing from an old screenshot.

The distinction matters most when you manage several Pages or are trying to identify a Page you do not manage. A familiar name is not enough: different Pages can have similar names, and a business portfolio may contain more than one Page. Check the Page itself before you copy any number, and check the label beside the number before you paste it into another service.

Find the number on the Page you are viewing

Start by opening the actual Facebook Page, rather than a post, a search result card, or an ad. Confirm its name and profile picture so you are working on the intended Page. Then inspect the Page’s information areas. Depending on the device and current layout, you may see About, Page Transparency, or a similar details area. If a row says Page ID, copy the digits shown there. Treat the label as the important clue: a nearby count, phone number, post identifier, or business account number is a different piece of information.

If the Page is one you manage, Facebook may let you switch into that Page from your profile menu. Meta’s Page access guidance distinguishes people who can use a Page directly on Facebook from people with task access through business tools. This can explain why two coworkers see different management controls. It does not mean that a person must be an administrator to view every Page’s public details. First try the Page’s visible information, then use the device-specific Help instructions if the ID is not there.

On a phone, open the Page in the Facebook app or mobile browser and look through its available information or transparency sections. The arrangement can differ from desktop. Avoid a guide that insists every phone has the same three-dot menu or that the ID must appear at the bottom of a particular tab. Facebook’s Find your Facebook Page ID Help article presents separate choices for computer, Android, iPhone, iPad, and mobile browser. Select the device that matches the screen you are using. If you switch from app to browser, check the Page name again before taking a number from a different view.

If you use Meta Business Suite

Business Suite can show several business assets together, which makes choosing the correct Page essential. If you see a Page details or settings panel with a value explicitly labelled Page ID, compare the Page name beside it with the Page you intended and copy only that labelled value. Do not assume that the first numeric identifier in a business screen is a Page ID. A business portfolio, ad account, and Page are different records, even when they are managed from the same workspace.

Business tool menus vary with your access and the product view. Meta explains that task access can allow work in tools such as Business Suite without switching into the Page on Facebook. If a colleague can see a setting you cannot, check which Page and access type each of you is using. If the label is absent, go back to the Page and Meta’s Page ID Help instructions. Do not give someone broader account access merely to find an identifier, and do not enter your password into a third-party “ID finder.”

Is the Page ID in the URL?

A Facebook Page may have a readable address that uses a username. That username is useful for sharing the Page, but it is not itself the numeric Page ID. Meta has separate help for creating a Page username and for changing a Page’s username and web address. An address containing words should therefore not be pasted into a field that asks specifically for an ID number.

Some Facebook addresses or links contain digits. Do not assume that any digits visible in a copied URL are the Page ID: a link to a post, photo, video, or ad can contain a different identifier. The reliable check is a Facebook field that explicitly identifies the number as the Page ID, or an authorized Meta tool that does so. If an integration accepts a Page URL instead, follow that integration’s own instructions for the URL field rather than trying to convert it by eye.

Check that you copied the right ID

Before submitting it elsewhere, use this short check:

  1. Correct Page: Return to the Page you intended to use and compare its displayed name and profile image with the source where you copied the number.
  2. Correct label: Confirm the digits came from a field labelled Page ID, not from a post link, ad account, business portfolio, or personal profile.
  3. Complete value: Copy the entire number without spaces, extra punctuation, or a surrounding URL when the destination asks for the ID alone.
  4. Correct destination: Read the field label in the tool or form. If it asks for a username, Page URL, or business ID, provide that item instead.

If the destination rejects a value you believe is correct, re-open the Facebook Page and copy the labelled ID again. Also check that the account connected to the destination has access to that Page; a correct ID cannot grant permissions by itself. If the error is about permission or connection, changing random digits will not solve it. Use the destination product’s access or connection help and Meta’s Page access guidance.

Does the ID prove a Page is genuine?

No. A Page ID identifies a Facebook record; it is not proof of the real-world person or organization operating it. Meta’s Ad Library API documentation treats a Page’s page_id and page_name as distinct fields. Knowing either one helps identify a record, but a copied value can also be repeated by someone else in a message or screenshot.

If you are checking whether a Page really belongs to an organization, start with a contact route you already trust, such as the organization’s own website, and follow its Facebook link. Facebook’s Page Transparency information may give additional context, including a Page’s creation and name-change history, as Meta explains. That history can help you ask better questions, but it does not certify that a payment request, login message, or seller is safe. Verify a surprising request through an independently known channel. Never share a password, one-time code, or recovery link to “confirm” a Page ID.

Quick answers

Can I find a Page ID without managing the Page? Start with the Page’s visible information or transparency area. Whether a particular field appears can vary by interface, device, and Page. Use Facebook’s device-specific Help article if you cannot locate it; do not assume that a missing management menu means the Page has no ID.

Is a Page ID the same as a username? No. A username can appear as readable text in a Page URL. A Page ID is a numeric identifier. Check which of the two your form asks for.

Why do I see several different numbers in Meta tools? A Page, post, ad account, and business portfolio can each have identifiers. Choose the number with the exact Page ID label for the exact Page you need. Do not rely on the length of the number as a test.

What if Meta’s menus have changed since this guide was written? The most durable route is to open the intended Page, look for its labelled ID in the information available to you, and then use Meta’s current device-specific Page ID instructions. The label and the chosen Page matter more than memorizing a fixed menu sequence.
