Where to Find Publishing Tools on Facebook
Find Page publishing options in Meta Business Suite, check Page access when tools are missing, and understand where older Publishing Tools and Creator Studio guides now point.

Quick answer: If you manage a Facebook Page, open that Page and look for Meta Business Suite. In Business Suite, choose the correct Page before looking for a post composer, Content, or Planner. The exact menu can differ by account, permission, and device. If you are using a personal profile, use its normal post composer: Page publishing tools may not be present. The older Publishing Tools label is not a reliable place to start.
The key distinction is the identity you intend to publish as. A personal profile, a Facebook Page, and an Instagram account connected to a Page are different destinations. Finding a menu is only half the task; confirming the destination before you publish or schedule avoids sending a draft to the wrong audience.
Start with the account that will publish
If you want to post as a Facebook Page, confirm that you are signed in to the Facebook account that has access to it. On a computer, select your profile picture and, if available, See all profiles. Choose the Page. Meta's Page access instructions describe this switch for people with Facebook access to a Page. From the Page, look for Meta Business Suite in its menu. Meta also shows this Page-to-Business-Suite route in its Page management instructions.
If you have permission to work on the Page but it does not appear under See all profiles, do not assume that the Page was deleted. Meta distinguishes Facebook access, which can allow you to switch into a Page on Facebook, from task access, which lets you perform assigned work in business tools without switching into the Page on Facebook. Someone with task access may need to enter through Meta Business Suite and select the Page there. The Page access overview explains this distinction and says that the Content task covers creating and managing Page posts and other content.
If you want to publish on your personal profile, start with the profile's own post composer. The Page workflow below is for people managing a Page. A profile's professional features, if available to you, do not turn that profile into a Facebook Page or guarantee the same Business Suite menus. Likewise, managing an Instagram account does not by itself show that you have permission to publish to a particular Facebook Page.
Find the Page publishing area in Meta Business Suite
After entering Meta Business Suite, first check the Page or business account shown in the account selector. If you manage more than one Page, this check matters more than the position of any menu item. Then look for a Create post action or for a section labeled Content or Planner. Meta presents Business Suite as the place to create and manage Page content; its official Business Suite scheduling walkthrough covers publishing and scheduling feed posts and stories on Facebook and Instagram.
The shortest useful route is:
- Sign in with the account that has the Page permission.
- Open the Page or Meta Business Suite, depending on your access type.
- Select the Page you intend to publish from.
- Look for Create post, Content, or Planner. Use the label that is actually visible in your account.
- Before posting or scheduling, review the selected destination and the preview.
That sequence is a navigation guide, not a promise that every screen will display the same labels. Meta changes interfaces and may show different tools for different permissions. If you only need to publish a regular Page post, a Page composer may also be visible on the Page itself. The specialized management view is useful when you need to find drafts, planned content, or other Page tasks in one place.
To find a draft or scheduled Page post
In Business Suite, start with the selected Page, then inspect Content or Planner for a draft or scheduled-content view. If the item is absent, check the destination again before making a second copy. A draft saved for one Page or channel will not necessarily appear under another. Also check whether the original action was actually saved or scheduled; closing a composer before confirming can leave nothing to find.
Treat a schedule confirmation and the presence of an item in your selected Page's planned-content view as separate checks. If you cannot find a post after scheduling it, review the selected account, content type, and date filters before recreating it. The interface may organize posts, stories, and reels in different views. This is a practical checking method, not a guarantee that Business Suite stores every content type in the same section.
Why the old Publishing Tools tab may be missing
Older tutorials describe a Publishing Tools tab on a Facebook Page. You may not see that exact label in the current Page menu. Search for the function you need rather than a historical tab name: create a post, find scheduled content, review drafts, or check Page access. For Page publishing and planning, Meta Business Suite is the current starting point shown in Meta's own Page help and Business Suite guidance.
There is a related naming trap: Creator Studio. Some older Page tutorials tell you to open it to schedule a post or see content insights. Meta's own creator-tools Help page says Creator Studio tools moved to Meta Business Suite, while Facebook's professional dashboard also provides some creator features. That Help page currently requires login in an anonymous browser, and Meta's separate Page access article still mentions Creator Studio in a list of management tools. For this reason, use a narrow conclusion: do not depend on an old Creator Studio or Publishing Tools path to find Page publishing actions today. Open the Page or Business Suite and follow the tools presented for your account.
If you cannot find the Page or a publishing button
Check these questions in order. Each points to a different fix.
Are you signed in to the account that was granted access? Having the Page's public link is not the same as being able to manage it. If you have multiple Facebook accounts, confirm which one the Page owner invited.
What kind of Page access do you have? Meta says people with Facebook access may switch into the Page. People with task access work through management tools and cannot switch into it on Facebook. If you were given task access, ask the person with full control to check whether your assigned tasks include Content. Do not ask them to grant full control merely to solve a missing publishing button; full control includes much broader account and access powers. The Page access overview explains those capabilities.
Did you select the right Page or business account? Business Suite may show more than one asset. A missing draft or disabled create action can reflect the currently selected destination. Return to the account selector and confirm the Page name. If the Page belongs to a business portfolio, its permissions may be managed there, so the owner may need to inspect access within that portfolio.
Are you looking for a Page tool while viewing a profile? A personal profile's composer is a separate publishing surface. Switch to a Page only if you actually have Page access and intend to post on that Page. If the post is for your own profile, return to its composer.
Is the missing option for one particular format? A regular post, a Story, a Reel, and an ad are different workflows. Do not assume that seeing one create button grants every other option. Check your selected destination and permission for the content type you want, then use Meta's in-product Help for that specific format if the action is unavailable.
If you can switch into the Page, Meta's instructions for seeing Page access take you to Page settings and Page access. If you cannot switch into the Page, have someone who controls the Page or business portfolio inspect your assignment. Repeatedly searching the old Publishing Tools label will not repair a permission issue.
Before you publish or schedule
Pause for a short destination check. Confirm the selected Page, the intended format, the text and media, and any date and time you set. If Business Suite offers a preview, review it on the chosen destination. If you have access to both a Facebook Page and a connected Instagram account, explicitly check which accounts are selected instead of assuming a post will go to just one. When publishing on behalf of a team, confirm which account is authorized to post and who should review the final draft.
After publishing, look at the Page itself or its content list to confirm the result. For a scheduled item, inspect the selected Page's scheduled view. This is especially useful when several people manage a Page: a second person should not create a duplicate merely because they did not see the first person's work immediately.
Common questions
Is Meta Business Suite the same as Creator Studio?
They are different names and interfaces. Meta says Creator Studio tools moved to Business Suite, and some creator features are available through the professional dashboard. For a Facebook Page's publishing tasks, start with the Page and Meta Business Suite. Do not rely on a historical Creator Studio screenshot to locate a current button.
Why can I manage a Page in Business Suite but not switch into it on Facebook?
You may have task access rather than Facebook access. Meta says task access allows assigned Page work through management tools but does not allow switching into the Page on Facebook. Ask the Page owner to confirm your task assignment if content actions are missing.
Where are publishing tools for my personal Facebook profile?
The Page route described here does not apply to an ordinary profile post. Open your profile and use its own post composer. If you use a professional profile, check the tools actually offered for that profile; the presence of profile features does not establish Page access.
Should I follow a guide that says to click Publishing Tools?
Use it only as a clue about the task, not as an exact map of today's menu. Identify whether the guide means Page post creation, scheduled content, drafts, or Creator Studio. Then open your Page or Meta Business Suite and look for the current action. If it is still unavailable, check access and the selected Page before troubleshooting the label.
